TEXAS — Southwest Airlines is grappling with a surge of delays and cancellations as spring break commences and travelers look to embark on their vacations.

Southwest Airlines told Spectrum News that “thunderstorms in the Southeast are impacting our operation, along with all airlines. Due to Air Traffic Control (ATC) constraints around the Florida area, we’ve had to cancel about 160 flights today. We are working hard to re-accommodate our customers to get them to their final destination quickly and safely. We appreciate our customers’ patience and apologize for any inconvenience.”

According to FlightAware, 25% of all Southwest Airlines flights have been delayed and 7% have been cancelled.
