EUSTIS, Fla. — It is Halloween time and many plan to visit haunted houses around Central Florida.

What You Need To Know

  • Visitors can experience a crop maze, petting zoo, pumpkin patch, cow train, slide hill, gemstone mining and much more
  • No scare zones just simple family farm fun
  • It's a 30-minute drive from downtown Orlando to the farm
  • They are open on weekends until Halloween

But how about going to a place where there are no jump scares, but where families can get lost together?

Amber Brooke Farms is a working family property in Eustis that is hosting its third annual Fall Festival every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until Halloween.

Farmer and owner Michael Hill says the Fall Festival is something different from most Halloween celebrations.

“We farm all year around,” Hill said. “This time of year we’re farming memories.”

Michael and his wife Brooke transform the farm this time of year into a family fun playground providing everything from a crop maze, petting zoo, cow train, slide hill, pumpkin patch, games, and gemstone mining.

“We try and do everything we can for just everybody to have a great memory,” he said.

One of the highlights of the Fall Festival is the harvest maze that is grown from sun hemp instead of corn. Hill says the sun hemp is used for the maze because it grows taller than corn and is better for the soil to return to normal when the festival is over.

“When this crop is done, we will till it back into the soil,” he said. “Verses if we were to do a corn maze, which pulls all the nitrogen out of the soil and is not giving my back to the soil.”

Hill and his team cut the maze using crop cutting tools along with a GPS and if you look at the maze from the air, it spells out Amber Brooke Farms.

The farm is well-known throughout the year as a place where families can come and pick strawberries and blueberries depending on the season.

Hill is a fourth generation grower and says people love coming out to their property because most have no connection to farming anymore.

“It used to be that 50% of Americans grew up on a farm, had close ties to a farm,” he said. “Now less than 1% of our population farms.”

Pricing is $15 if you make a reservation online or it is $17 at the gate. Reservations are recommended because the festival often reaches capacity.

Children age two and under get in for free.
