GREENSBORO, N.C. — Thousands of customers lost power for hours in Guilford County on Sunday afternoon after a line of storms that prompted a Tornado Warning moved through.

More than 18,000 outages for Duke Energy and United Energy were reported about 2 p.m., but by about 6 p.m., only 10,000 remained without power, according to tracking site poweroutage.us

The storm brought down trees at Onslow Drive and Northampton Drive in Greensboro.

The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch through 8 p.m. for much of central and coastal North Carolina.
