RALEIGH, N.C. — A person is dead after crashing into a stopped Duke Energy service truck late Monday night.

The crash happened just before midnight on Six Forks Road, near Sandy Forks Road.

Raleigh Police say the driver was going southbound when they crashed into the rear of a Duke Energy truck. The truck had stopped to investigate a power outage in the area, according to investigators.

The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment, officials said, but later died of injuries. Officials have yet to share their name.

The Duke Energy truck diver was not injured, and the investigation is ongoing.
