A Gerber infant formula that was recalled in March because of possible contamination was distributed to retailers in several states after the initial notice, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said.

The Perrigo Company issued a voluntary recall of certain lots of Gerber Good Start SootheProTM Powdered Infant Formula on March 17 due to the potential presence of Cronobacter sakazakii, a bacteria that could make infants sick. 

The FDA said Associated Wholesale Grocers, Inc. has released an additional notice after the recalled product was distributed to its Nashville Division retailers after the initial recall. 

The product was distributed to independent retailers located in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Virgina and West Virginia. The retailers include:
