CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man is charged after police say he collided with a Charlotte Area Transit System Easter Sunday, which caused injuries to 15 people on board.
Nelson Arcenio Mendez Domingo, 30, is charged with driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license.
Around 7 a.m. Sunday, police say Domingo ran a red light at the intersection of Oaklawn Avenue and Statesville Avenue, hitting a vehicle and CATS bus before coming to rest after hitting a telephone pole.
Fifteen people on board the CATS bus were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police say Domingo was arrested on scene.
