RALEIGH, N.C. — If you’re looking for some family-friendly, awe-inspiring entertainment from performers around the world this weekend, you can head to Cirque Italia in Raleigh.
Cirque Italia travels the country, performing six different shows. This year’s theme is 1950s-style water circus, featuring performers from Argentina, Brazil, Romania and other countries.

The show’s ringmaster and director, Alex Acero, is a sixth-generation circus performer. His two daughters perform in the show, marking the seventh generation of performers.
“I grew up doing this. My whole family, my mom, my grandpa, my grandfather was all to the circus,” Acero said. “And my kids are in the show, too. So they love circus. I'm happy.”
Acero says it took him six months to design the show, then another month to bring it to life.
You’ll see master jugglers, low-wire fanatics, contortionists, trampoline acts and even something called a wheel of death.
Tickets start at $15 and can be purchased at the box office on site or through their website or by texting or calling (941) 704-8572.
