RALEIGH, N.C. — A man died Friday afternoon after a boat capsized on Jordan Lake, state wildlife officials say.
The boat carrying four people capsized about 2 p.m. near the Farrington Point boat ramp in Chatham County, N.C. Wildlife Resource Commission Sgt. Claude Smith said.
All four people were pulled from the water and taken to hospital, where Jesus Martinez Sandoval, 63, was pronounced dead.
It is the second drowning this month at Jordan Lake.
A teenage boy went missing near the Farrington boat ramp March 7 after his personal watercraft had mechanical problems. The 15-year-old’s body was found March 9 after a search by rescue crews and volunteers.
