Nearly six years after Hurricane Matthew and four years after Hurricane Florence, thousands of families are still waiting for repairs or the rebuilding of their homes.

Hurricane recovery is complicated in terms of state and federal programs, and there's plenty of red tape.

This week, North Carolina Director of Recovery and Resiliency Laura Hogshead is on the show, and she will detail how many people are still waiting and why it takes so long. She will answer many of the critics’ questions that remain as a legislative committee begins its own look into the long-term recovery.
