Catawba Two Kings Casino opened in July 2021 at its temporary location. As of Tuesday, the casino has added and opened 30 kiosks for onsite sports betting.

The cage director, Orlando Jordan, has been in the business for 23 years. Jordan says a lot of people have asked when the sportsbook would open. Now it is.
"Sports betting is going to actually appeal to a new market here in North Carolina," Jordan said. "In Kings Mountain, Gaston County and Cleveland County as well."
The Catawba Nation Gaming Authority said this could bring in more people from surrounding states, like South Carolina and Georgia, where sports betting is illegal.
The sportsbook lounge includes chairs and a wall of TVs turned to the games.
"It's a fun thing to do," Jordan said. "It makes watching the games more exciting. You can play with your friends, place multiple bets and have a good time doing it."
Trent Troxel, the vice president of the Catawba Nation Gaming Authority, said he is keeping track of legislation that would make online sport betting legal in North Carolina. Right now, it is not.
