CHARLOTTE, N.C. — For many Americans, the weekends are for brunch.

It's a meal 75% of people in the U.S. were looking forward to enjoying again once restaurants reopened during the pandemic, according to a survey by General Mills Foodservice.

Midnight Milligan Brewing in Charlotte is seeing the impact.

"We're much busier than we initially were when we first started," said co-owner Joe Baumgartner. 

Midnight Mulligan opened in December 2021, and started serving brunch on June 12.

"We have a unique setup with having a full kitchen, so we thought why not," said Baumgartner. "People in Charlotte love their brunch."

That same survey by General Mills Foodservice shows 56% of people love breakfast food now even more than they did a year ago.

Midnight Mulligan has seen such an overwhelming response from brunch lovers, the restaurant is starting to offer brunch on Saturdays as well.
