RALEIGH, N.C. — A new nonprofit recently launched in the City of Oaks. Art of Discovery will offer free access to the arts for youth and adults.
Michelle McCullough is a volunteer who will teach public speaking.
What You Need To Know
- Art of Discovery will offer arts classes for free
- Classes and courses will be for youth and adults
- Programs will take place at Green Road and Chavis Community Centers
“From the youth all the way up to the adults, we want them to know that it is OK," McCullough said. "Arts, speaking, graphics design, drama, literary, college and career readiness, anything you need, we are going to be making sure the resources are available in the community."
The workshops and programs will take place at the Green Road and Chavis Community Centers.
McCullough has plenty on her plate, but has a special motivation that inspires her to keep giving back.
“My mother suffers with dementia, and I take care of her along with my sister, and seeing her struggle, [I] wanted to make sure that I’m doing my part to help make a difference," McCullough said. "If I can just touch one life, just one person, then I’m happy with that.”
