CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charges have been filed for the man arrested Saturday night after police say he pulled a gun inside The Comedy Zone Charlotte and fired a shot.

Omar McCombs, 36, is charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, communicating threats, discharging a firearm in the city, discharging a firearm inside an enclosure to incite fear and multiple counts of assault by pointing a gun.

The incident happened shortly after 9 p.m. as actor and comedian Craig Robinson, who has starred in shows like "The Office" and movies such as "Hot Tub Time Machine," was about to take the stage. Robinson posted about the incident on his Instagram saying the venue had been evacuated.

The man "brandished a firearm inside the business," and then "discharged his weapon," police posted on Twitter Saturday night.

The suspect later was identified by police as McCombs, according to The Associated Press. Investigators have not yet released a motive.

Several people inside the club, according to a statement from Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, told officers McCombs made threats of bodily harm while pointing the weapon at them.

The CMPD said no one was injured.

On Sunday, Robinson posted another message on his Instagram thanking the club's security, staff and CMPD for their quick response and helping get everyone to safety.

"Hopefully he gets the help he needs," Robinson's post read. "Thanks be to God no one was hurt."
