BLOWING ROCK, N.C. — North Carolina's Tweetsie Railroad reopens in April ahead of some upcoming events, including a visit from the Easter Bunny.

The iconic theme park will open Saturday, April 9 and will operate on a weekend schedule from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until summer. Starting May 28, the park is open Thursdays through Mondays before resuming a weekend-only schedule on August 14.

“We can’t wait to see our beloved park open again this season,” Tweetsie Railroad's Cathy Robbins said. “Tweetsie’s charm lies in the memories we provide for all generations.”

Below is Tweetsie's 2022 current event schedule:

  • Visit with the Easter Bunny: April 16-17
  • Day Out With Thomas: June 10-13 and June 16-19
  • July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza: July 4
  • K-9s In Flight Frisbee Dogs: July 23-25 and 28-31

“There is no tradition like a Tweetsie tradition, and we hope all our regular visitors – and lots of new ones – will make plans to make several trips to the park this year,” Robbins said.

Some of the park's features include live shows, amusement rides and a three-mile adventure with historic steam locomotives.

Single day tickets are $58 for adults and $39 for kids. Children 2 and under are free. Golden Rail Season Pass tickets are $134 for adults and $90 for children.

This year, Golden Rail Season Pass holders also get a "bring a friend free ticket" to use in April or May. Season pass holders from 2021 will receive a discount if they renew again in 2022.
