GREENSBORO, N.C. — A North Carolina woman is showcasing her passion for seniors this month.

Ursula Robinson is the executive director of PACE of the Triad, a nonprofit that provides medical care and supports services to aging adults in the community.

Robinson worked in hospice and palliative care for 18 years, and her passion for helping others began at an early age.

“I grew up around older adults and just developed a great love and appreciation for the wisdom, for their guidance," Robinson said.

She was raised by her grandparents and says her loved ones are what made her want to start the PACE program.

“While working at the hospice I lost three women who were significant in my life," Robinson said. "My great grandmother, grandmother and mother."

She said her goal is to increase the quality of life for older adults.

“To treat every one of our older adults as if they're family members with dignity and respect," Robinson said.

Throughout her career, Robinson has received numerous awards for her service and leadership. Most recently, she received an NAACP service award and leadership recognition from The North Carolina PACE Association.
