DURHAM, N.C. — People are inspiring others to make positive change around the state.

Meet Dennis Garrett. He spent the majority of his young adult life behind bars. He was sent to jail for the first time when he was just 15 years old.

Years later, as an inmate, Dennis started working with the Scared Straight program. It was then that he discovered his passion for helping others and turning weaknesses into strengths.

Now, as the founder of a nonprofit helping those seeking recovery, he shares with us his journey to becoming a voice for change.

Are you a voice for change? We want to hear from you. Tell us what you are doing to help build a better tomorrow.
