STATESVILLE, N.C. — Drivers on I-77 in Iredell County should expect intermittent closures during two nights of construction over the next two weeks.
Traffic in both directions will be impacted.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation says the first closure will begin at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7. Traffic will be stopped at 30 minute intervals through 5 a.m. Thursday.
After each 30 minute closure, officials say crews will allow traffic to clear before continuing work.
The closures will allow NCDOT crews to set girders for the new Broad Street Bridge.
Similar closures are also planned for the evening of Thursday, July 15.
Drivers should use caution when approaching and traveling through the work zones. Delays should also be expected.
