CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Families are still looking for justice one year after a shooting on Beatties Ford Road killed four people and injured five others.
We recently shared the story of a father whose son was killed during that Juneteenth block party who says he is surprised more people haven’t come forward to help Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department investigate the deadly shooting.
Tuesday night, the community marched to honor the “Beatties Ford four.” The march started at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church to where the shooting happened.
“To me, it means that the community has come together and they really want answers also. Not just the families, but the community also because I’m pretty sure every person that was killed that night or hurt or injured that night had some type of connection because it was so many people out here that night,” marcher Jocelyn Hightower said.
CMPD is asking anyone with information to come forward to help arrest a suspect in this case. Anyone can call Crimestoppers anonymously at 704-334-1600.
