The State Highway Patrol said the accident happened Thursday on U.S. 264, when a box truck driving in the rain crossed the median and travelled into the other lane.

The teens were all in the same car. Investigators identified them as 18-year-old Madison Wilson, 15-year-old Devin Wilson, 17-year-old John Winstead, and 18-year-old Abby Foster. The fifth passenger, Dakota Wilson, walked away with minor injuries.

The Wilson Familiy’s pastor, Henry Parker of Belvoir Free Will Baptist Church, said the Wilsons were like family.

“I can’t imagine what these parents are feeling. There’s no way I could even try to say that I even identify. There’s nothing that I can say. There’s no way that I can feel like they feel right now," Parker said. "But it’s a blessing to know that we can go and be an encouragement to them in their time and just help them. We’re not there to fill a hole because we’re not going to fill that hole. But we’re there to encourage them in Christ."

Parker said the church community has been bringing lots of love and support to these families.

“What I saw in that hospital room was the Spirit of God wrapping his loving arms around this family and letting them know that he’s there,” he said.

Churches across the country are sending donations to the families and the Greenville community has been bringing them meals.
