WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A North Carolina man is using his pain to encourage others through gospel music.

What You Need To Know

  • Semaj Moore was in a car accident that left him in a wheelchair

  • His goal is to encourage and inspire others

  • He owns a Christian-based, music production company called, Showoff Praise

In 2016, Semaj Moore was hit by a car, leaving him in a wheelchair.

“After receiving full custody of my daughter, I was leaving school and I was run over," Moore said. "A horrible accident. Broke my neck, put me in a coma.”

However, Moore turned his accident into purpose, pursuing gospel music for the past 10 years.

His goal is to encourage others to keep pushing forward, in part by organizing community events that are family-friendly and spreading hope through rap.

“So, I just used my pain and everything I went through as inspiration for everybody to do better," Moore said. "Look at what I'm going through and know that you can make a difference. If I can do it, you can do it.”

Moore says his company, Showoff Praise, is always looking for partnerships and donations.
