Kiara Ruth is the author behind "The Banana Moon" blog, which details her experience of sexual abuse during her childhood.

“I started it at the age of two where I experienced sexual abuse for the first time," Ruth explained. "I contracted an STD called gonorrhea, so that's how my mother knew.”

In her blog, she discusses topics like motherhood, lifestyle and her story. Ruth encourages women to keep pushing forward and find ways to heal, like seeking therapy.

"Really rediscovering who you are, exploring your body," Ruth said. "Find the things that were taken from you and gain those things back.”

Ruth plans to continue pouring into her blog and advocating for sexual abuse awareness.
