ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — An artist is calling attention to Andrew Brown Jr.'s death with a mural.

Jessa Kimbra owns the clothing store Dear Alchemy Collaboratory and says this isn't the first social justice mural she has done.

The painting originally had the words, "I can't breathe...enough is enough" written underneath. It was painted after George Floyd was murdered in Minneapolis.

"We all know the story behind those words and how the trial went, it was such a huge thing," Kimbra said.

After ex-cop Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all charges last week in relation to Floyd's murder, Brown was killed by deputies in Elizabeth City.

Kimbra says she wants to use her platform to be a voice.

“I'm here to use my platform, my privilege, to take a stand because if I'm not doing that, then what am I doing everything for," Kimbra asked.

The mural can be seen on East Colonial Avenue, the same street as the Pasquotank County Sheriff's Office.

Kimbra is shutting the store down because she is moving to Georgia. She hopes the mural remains.
