CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Spectrum Center in Uptown is hosting another mass vaccination event with Novant Health Saturday, March 6. The Charlotte Area Transit System will also be providing free rides for the event.
From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Novant Health says it plans to administer roughly 2,200 second doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to those who received the first dose on February 13.
Officials say the health system has also been coordinating with the Mecklenburg County Health Department to administer 2,000 single doses of the new Johnson & Johnson vaccine to Charlotte-Mecklenburg School employees.
CATS says fare-free transit will be provided for the event to help increase access for the Charlotte community.
77X-North Mecklenburg Express bus service will also be provided directly to the Charlotte Transportation Center, officials say. The route will run every hour between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m., serving four park and rides. Those include Davidson-Gateway, Cornelius, Huntersville-Northcross, and Huntersville-Gateway.
