ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — Two Rowan County twins are using their time during the pandemic to their advantage.

What You Need To Know

  • The Webster sisters plan on finishing their associates degree, the same time as high school

  • They have been taking college classes since freshman year

  • Online classes have allowed them to do even more

The Webster sisters, Rachel and Bailey, are taking college level courses online through Rowan Cabarrus Community College.

While they have been taking college courses all throughout their high school careers, by taking them online during the pandemic, they have been able to get through even more.  They even say they have more free time now to get more involved in after school activities.

Community colleges around the country have seen an influx of high school students taking advantage of online classes during the pandemic.

This is a trend the Webster sisters suggest every high schooler should take advantage of if possible.

“Oh, that’s been super nice because those classes aren’t even offered in high school," Bailey says. "So I can take those online or just really whenever I’m free in my schedule. And then I still have time to go to high school and take classes there.”

The Webster twins plan on going to Catawba College this fall, starting in college as juniors, two years ahead of schedule.
