DURHAM, N.C. — A new way of learning has come to Durham.

H&C Educational Services has launched The Instructional Pod Academy to help provide a COVID-friendly, safe environment for students to complete their academic studies online, while still having over the shoulder support in a classroom setting.

“We can provide opportunities for our scholars to learn and not be afraid of doing school online — that’s the new norm. Now, they can come here and get everything they possibly need to succeed in a small and supportive environment,” says Dr. Linda Hubbard Curtis, co-founder and CEO of H&C Educational Services.

The academy serves students in grades K-12 and is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided, and after school care is also available.

“This will give that relief for parents to be parents, instead of having to be instructors as well. We’ll take that burden on to help their students stay on task, to have their lessons, and to keep that structure in an environment that is specifically tailored to each student,” says Yolanda Bowden, COO, Instructional Pod Academy.

IPA’s campus can hold 38 students. Tuition is based on a sliding scale and scholarships are available. To learn more about the academy and how to apply visit their website.
