Waiters, chefs, bartenders, and other service industry workers can’t avoid alcohol during their working hours, so Ben’s Friends helps them find ways to stay on track and offer support

Many service industry workers have also lost their jobs or had their hours cut down because of the pandemic. Ben’s Friends is working to offer more support by having meetings seven days a week and holding them virtually so anyone can attend.

Sam Diminich is the Charlotte representative for Ben’s Friends. He lost his job as an executive chef during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“There’s never been a greater need for the voice of Ben’s Friends to be out there for the people that are in questionable circumstances and uncertainty”, Diminich says.
