GREENSBORO, N.C. – A business model that has been growing in popularity in recent years is finding tremendous success in Greensboro.

Rich Girls Museum, a “selfie museum,” opened in mid-October. It’s a place where visitors, and their friends and family, can go and take pictures of themselves with different professional backgrounds and props for mediums such as social media.

Since opening, the museum has seen visitors who have flown in from as far away as New York and Florida.

“Being that it’s 2020, everybody’s on social media, everyone wants that picture, everybody wants the lights for the picture too,” said Marteekia Sweat, the owner of Rich Girls Museum.

In addition to being extremely popular on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, Rich Girls Museum is also a triumph for Sweat as a Black woman because it Is the first Black-owned selfie museum in the nation.
