FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Miranda Seals was determined to get her annual flu shot.

The veteran from Cameron drove all the way to the Veterans Administration facility to get that shot. She was compelled by all the problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In about a month, we will start the journey through the peak of the flu season. To help combat that, the VA is holding several drive-thru flu clinics at several locations throughout the state.

Veterans looking to get the flu vaccine are able to drive up and after a temperature check and other COVID-19 precautions are observed, they can receive the flu vaccine rather quickly.

So far, only one person in the state has died due to the flu. On December 5, the VA will be holding another series of drive through vaccination clinics.
