NORTH CAROLINA – Time is running out for North Carolina parents to apply for a grant to help with child-care and virtual-learning expenses.

Gov. Roy Cooper signed the Coronavirus Relief Act 3.0 in September, which included the Extra Credit Grant program to be administered by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.

According to the NCDOR, the purpose of the program is to use funds from the Coronavirus Relief Fund to help families with qualifying by providing economic support to assist with virtual learning and child-care costs during the pandemic.

The grant amount is $335 for each eligible child.

The deadline to apply for the grant is October 15.
