CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Grammy-nominated rapper DaBaby is encouraging his community to register to vote.

The Charlotte native hosted “Vote Baby Vote,” a three-hour voter registration event Monday where attendees were able to gather information about the voting process and register to vote.

“It felt really good to see people out here registering to vote especially seeing so many people of color out here getting registered to vote because the Black vote is something that is constantly being suppressed. So, it’s important that we really highlight that we are out here. We are voting,” Brianna Davillier with Democracy N.C. said.

The event also provided free testing for COVID-19.
