CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Coronavirus may have things feeling like a horror movie, but it didn’t stop a group of North Carolina filmmakers from making one of their own.

Production just wrapped on “Heir of the Witch” after delays from the pandemic. Along with the cast wearing wardrobe, crews wore masks. And sound checks only came after temperature checks.

“Heir of the Witch” is a horror film based on the writer/director Victoria Bell Moore’s own family history.

Moore says her Moldovian grandmother claimed to be a witch, and cursed her mother’s side of the family.

“I grew up with that fear. I grew up with those nightmares. I grew up with those fears that were so deep into my heart,” Moore says.

She expects “Heir of the Witch” to go through six months of post-production before it’s ready for release.
