GREENSBORO, N.C. – A Guilford County Schools district is facing one of its biggest challenges.

The district is anticipating a delay of nearly 80,000 devices for remote learning, which could take up to 120 days to arrive. School board members are encouraging parents, students, and staff to be patient in the meantime.

“The number of parents who are frustrated, the number of teachers and administrators who are frustrated," Guilford County Schools District 7 Rep. Byron Gladden said. "This is not the reality we would ever want learning to happen.”

The school district is also deploying 125 smart buses throughout the county to improve internet access for students.

Guilford County students begin online instruction on Monday, August 17.
