CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Some North Carolina pools say their employees have tested positive for COVID-19.
Winston-Salem Recreation and Parks closed all its pools after learning two employees tested positive.
It says employees who were in contact with them will be tested and it will work with the health department on contact tracing.
Mecklenburg County announced Friday, four of its aquatic employees at Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center and Double Oaks pool tested positive.
The county says it has not identified significant risk of exposure to the public and is doing everything it can to keep pools safe.
“We're following all the guidelines, so we're making them as safe as they can possibly but it's still a personal choice. But we have the healthcare of our employees and our patrons is paramount,” says Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Director Lee Jones.
Jones says they are pretty certain the employees didn't get the virus at the pools.
