BOONE, N.C. -- Volunteers went to the parkway on Saturday to help clean Julian Price Campground in preparation for visitors.
A group called "Friends of the Blue Ridge Parkway" is working to get everything cleaned up before the parkway allows campers to head back in.
Some worked with leaf blowers, and others raked leaves throughout the campsites and theatre.
Ken Carpenter, president of the High Country chapter, says it's a good feeling to come back and being able to see people enjoy the sites.
"They don't even know. It's so rewarding to know that now they are out enjoying nature in the park and I made it all the better," Carpenter said.
The High Country chapter is currently looking for more volunteers. For more information, click here.
