GREENSBORO, N.C. – Eight children are returning home to Mongolia after traveling to North Carolina for a life-saving heart surgery.
This is a part of a "Children's Heart Project" through the Boone-based charity, Samaritan's Purse. The children getting help range from ages 1 to 5 years old and who have have suffered from congenital heart defects.
These families have been in the states for the past four months, which is much longer than their expected stay because of travel restrictions due to COVID-19. Nevertheless, parents say they're so happy with the results and the whole experience.
“God did a miracle. Now my son has a new life. He gave the gift of life.” Purevsuren Ochir says.
The families traveling to Mongolia will be quarantining for 21 days once they return home.
