NORTH CAROLINA – For the seventh straight day, protesters gathered across the country and in North Carolina for George Floyd.

Nine days after his death, demonstrations for George Floyd have persisted around North Carolina. Some protests have turned violent, requiring police intervention and dispersal orders to be issued. Others have remained peaceful. Some protesters have marched into the late night hours and others simply gathered during the day.

In Charlotte, demonstrators gathered at Freedom Park. Posters and banners were displayed for people to write messages on. Protesters marched for several hours. CMPD broadcast the protest live on Facebook. The video featured conversations with protesters, as well as on scene visuals for viewers of the live actions.

In Durham, protesters gathered for what ended up being an entirely peaceful demonstration. It turned into a candle-lit vigil honoring George Floyd and other African Americans who lost their lives to violence.
