GREENSBORO, N.C. — A couple of faith leaders are joining forces to give back to families in need. The W.D. Mohammad Islamic Center received a donation of 10,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The donation will go toward starting a food pantry for families in need. “I think this is very important for us to serve the community by helping people to alleviate some stress they have of living day to day," said Hassan Yamini, Resident Imam at W.D. Mohammad Islamic Center. The pantry opens June 20. Leaders also plan to offer a drive-thru option for families. |
