MATTHEWS, N.C. -- Social distancing was never really a problem in Sheri McCoy's Matthews neighborhood.

The sounds of nature outweigh any risk of people getting too close, but that doesn't make the past few weeks any easier. McCoy has been one of many residents across the state who have struggled to get essential grocery items, including toilet paper.

That was until a week ago when she found a roll of toilet paper in her mailbox. The person who dropped off the roll in her mailbox, and at many houses on the street, was Christine Rowell.

"Everybody needs a little help in the world right now," said Rowell. "They need to know someone is loving them. I hope it helps them a lot."
