In a statement, Ellison says the guidelines will “give our associates even greater flexibility and pay them for the time they need to stay home and get well.” On-demand resources will also be made available to help answer any questions associates may have.

The company is encouraging anyone who feels sick to stay home.

Ellison says they will also be increasing cleaning and sanitizing efforts at each location, including more frequented areas like checkout lanes, restrooms, and associate break rooms.

Lowe’s joins several other national retailers who have announced new time-off guidelines to help workers who may become sick due to coronavirus.
