The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department says Scott Brooks was shot and killed in December while he was opening the restaurant.
To honor his memory, Glory Days Apparel is selling a t-shirt in Scott’s honor. The shirt incorporates the restaurant’s signature sign along with Scott’s favorite saying, “Too blessed to be stressed.”
All of the net profits from the t-shirt sales will go towards Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte.
J.D. Harris, the owner of Glory Days, says after the tragedy he wanted to step up to show the family how much they mean to the community and beyond.
“For me, it was like, what can we do to continue that mission and that legacy that they had, and can you do something good for the people in the community,” Harris says. “Really kind of put two and two together, and we reached out to Habitat, to see if there’s a way we can direct our donations specifically to that project, and continue that mission, that legacy.”
The t-shirts will be sold at the Brooks Sandwich House at 10 a.m. during their re-opening event Saturday. You can also purchase the shirts on the Glory Days Apparel website.
