SALISBURY, N.C. — A man on the Rowan County Sheriff's Most Wanted list has been arrested.
- Cory Herrington has been on the Rowan County Sheriff's Most Wanted list since December
- He was arrested after being caught in a stolen vehicle, deputies say
- He has been out on bond for charges related to a 2018 homicide and was also wanted for a robbery and vehicle theft that took place in November 2019
Deputies say Cory Herrington, 26, was arrested Saturday after he tried to run from authorities who stopped him on Stokes Ferry Road. Herrington was allegedly driving a vehicle that was reported stolen out of Salisbury.
Herrington was captured in some nearby woods, deputies say, and taken into custody.
On November 22, 2019, Herrington was accused of participating in a robbery that resulted in a vehicle being stolen. The vehicle was later recovered from High Rock Lake, and Herrington was placed on the Sheriff's Most Wanted list in December.
The Rowan County Sheriff's Office says Herrington has been out on bond for his involvment in a 2018 homicide on Dulin Avenue. Herrington was allegedly caught using a credit card belonging to the victim.
A passenger in the vehicle with Herrington was also taken into custody on Saturday. Deputies say Daniel Yates, 28, is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, carrying a cancealed weapon, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputies say additional charges for possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia are being sought against Herrington.
