CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Some Carolina Panthers fans are showing support for injured quarterback Cam Newton, and they want Newton and team executives to know they want him to stay after he heals.

A group called “Panthers Culture-LLC” has funded billboards supporting Newton along Interstate 77. One is on the northbound side near Tyvola Road, and the other is on the southbound side near Morehead Street.
The billboards flash messages saying, “Keep Cam Home” and “Cam-olina.”
“He’s put Charlotte and the Panthers on the map. He’s the most well-known Panther of all time. I say give him a little more time,” Panthers Culture-LLC founder Jesse Hardy said.
Hardy also wants to correct the negative feelings about Newton’s future with the team.
“Some of the frustration that the fan base had been experiencing regarding the national narrative on Cam Newton, and some of it from the internal lack of clarity on what is happening with Cam,” Hardy said.
Hardy says the billboards will be up temporarily.
Other fans want Newton, who played in only two games this season, to return.
“He’s a good guy, he’s great for the community, and when he is a hundred-percent healthy, he is one of the best quarterbacks in the league,” Newton fan Zach Harrill said.
