The NCAA baseball tournament is going to Omaha as eight teams from around the country look to win it all.
When regionals started, the Carolinas were represented by eight schools. On Monday, Coastal Carolina University became the only survivor when Duke fell 5-4 to Murray State in Game 3 of the super regionals.
Since entering the tournament on May 30, the Chanticleers have had everything go their way.
They are one of three undefeated schools, joined by Arkansas and UCLA, remaining out of the eight schools competing in the College World Series.
This is only the second time Coastal has made it to Omaha. The Myrtle Beach school last made it to the College World Series in 2016, when they won it all.
During their trip to the national championship nearly 10 years ago, the Chanticleers suffered only two losses. One loss came in the Raleigh Regional, and the second came in Game 2 of the finals against Arizona. Coastal took it home, however, with a 4-3 win in Game 3.
The question now: can they do it again?
You can follow the Chanticleers’ journey when they kickoff CWS play on June 13 at 2 p.m. against Arizona. You can find that game on ESPN.
The CWS finals will begin on June 21.
