CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- What screams Christmas more than gingerbread houses?

Well, top pastry chefs from Charlotte created one of a kind gingerbread houses and put them up for auction.

People made their rounds and placed their bids on their favorite house.

All of the money raised will be going to Community Matters Cafe, which works with the Charlotte Rescue Mission to give recovering addicts a second chance.

Along with the auction, the Christmas celebration included cookie decorating, ornament making, and some holiday drinks.
