RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. – After hours of searching the FAA says authorities have found the wreckage of a missing plane near Asheboro Regional Airport.

  • The FAA says authorities found the plane about two miles from the airport
  • The two victims have been identified as Bryan Andrew Manzer and Steven Neil Lewis

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says the Asheboro Airport called about an overdue plane around 10 p.m. Friday.

Witnesses and officials told deputies they saw the plane fly over the airport around 8:30.

The plane was coming in from Tennessee with one pilot and passenger on board. Both are deceased.

The two victims have been identified as Bryan Andrew Manzer and Steven Neil Lewis

The FAA says authorities found the plane about two miles from the airport.

The NTSB will investigate what caused the plane to crash.
