"This time of year is super busy for bats because from May 1 to August 1, we can't do anything with them because babies don't fly," said Critter Control of the Triangle technician Albert Richards. "Once August 1 comes, it's when we start to evict all the bats from all these houses."
He recommends calling 911 if you see a bat in your living space after hours. An animal control officer will likely be able to assist you.
Bats can be helpful as they eat plenty of mosquitoes. However, they are not welcome inside a home.
"They are not going to attack you," Richards said. "They think you are a big predator. They think you are actually trying to eat them."
