The Humane Society of Charlotte took in nine dogs from shelters in the Myrtle Beach area to get ahead of the storms and make room for pets that could get lost or sadly abandoned.
Danielle Cunnane, the Kennel Manager, said this can save an animals life and also give people a chance to get a new lifelong friend.
The dogs will be ready to adopt as soon as the end of this week.
The Humane Society of Charlotte says they expect to get more dogs and cats from other areas affected by Hurricane Dorian. If you're thinking about adopting a pet, now is the time.
