CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte Pride continued Sunday with a parade that rolled through Uptown.

  • Charlotte Pride got its start in Charlotte in 2001 and the parade and festival moved to Uptown in 2011
  • What started out as small gathering has now turned into the city's largest parade with more than 100,000 visitors each year
  • The roads were closed from 4th all the way down to Stonewall Street for the last day of the festival, which wrapped up at 6 p.m.

A huge chunk of Uptown was shut down for this parade.

Charlotte Pride got its start in Charlotte in 2001 and the parade and festival moved to Uptown in 2011.

What started out as small gathering has now turned into the city's largest parade with more than 100,000 visitors each year.

The parade started at the corner of Tryon and 9th Street at 1 p.m., going down to 4th, and ending on the corner of 4th and college.

The roads were closed from 4th all the way down to Stonewall Street for the last day of the festival, which wrapped up at 6 p.m.
