COLUMBIA, S.C. – Some new signs are turning heads in South Carolina.
- "School Prayer Zone" signs are popping up in Sourth Carolina.
- The signs are being put up by churches, and were designed with DOT approval.
- Praying in schools in the U.S. is perfectly legal.
“School Prayer Zone” signs are being sold to churches who are putting them near public schools.
It’s a new project by the group “Christ Teens.”
"We want this next generation coming out of our public schools every 365 days to be productive citizens with wisdom, understanding, knowledge, skills and ability you know everything you would want from a graduation class," says Vanessa Frazier with the group.
The signs were designed with the DOT’s approval. So far three signs have been sold.
Prayer in public schools in the United States is perfectly legal, so long as it’s voluntary. That seems to something this group wants to see more of.
