IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. -- One person is dead after jumping off a pontoon boat on Saturday afternoon.

• Jeffery Cooper Jr. drowned at Lake Norman on Saturday.
• Authorities say he jumped off a pontoon boat and then did not resurface.
• He was 32.

The Iredell County Sheriff's Office says it happened on Lake Norman.

Crews searched for several hours before finding a body of 32-year-old Jeffery Wayne Cooper, Jr.

Emergency crews have not released any more information on this incident.
